Abstract Artwork for Less {Sources}

Some of you may remember this design board I did for a reader's redesign back in March:

I received a lot of great feedback as well as reader's wanting to know the source for the abstract art above the couch. I love how art can pull all the colors of a room together to make it feel cohesive. Sometimes I find a piece of art that inspires a whole room design.
The artwork above the couch is an abstract piece from John-Richard for Horchow. The piece is called "The Camaraderie". The list price is $1250 and is currently on sale for $875.

Now most of us are not in the market for buying such expensive pieces of art, but would like similar abstracts that can bring in color and impact into our homes.

Here are a few sites that have similar pieces for a lot less!

Clare Elsaesser for Etsy

World Market Abstract one & Abstract two

Sisso for Etsy

Minted Abstract Prints

Pamelam for Etsy

Aren't they all fabulous? This is only a small glimpse of some of my favorite Abstract artists for less. I am sure you could find many more on Etsy or even search for some on pinterest.

So tell me...are you an abstract art lover or more of a portrait art lover?

Setting the Table For Spring

Hi All! I promise that I haven't forgotten about you. I wish more than anything I could be blogging and sharing some amazing inspiration with all of you each day. But...someone has to bring in some income in order to share my projects! HA! I will be back next week with some spring ideas.

Today I am so excited to be guest posting over at 702 Park Project! I am sharing some ideas for a spring table setting as well as some sources.

Stop on over and say hi to Sarah! She is currently renovating an old four square in Goldsboro, NC! Sarah and her husband have so many fabulous ideas and projects going on. You will want to follow along!

Industrial Lighting for Less

Hello There! Welcome to a new week! Can't believe it is Monday already....summer is flying by.

Last week I received a call from a friend that was in the market for some industrial lighting for her bedroom. She wanted two bedside table lamps that weren't outrageously priced. As we all know, lighting is expensive. Lighting is the one thing that you can really splurge on. It can change the look of each room in your home. That being said....you can find lighting that looks high end but serves the same function for less!

Take a look at the brass apothecary table lamp. I love the look of the brass throughout this room. It adds a little history to the space without making it feel antique and outdated.

I also love the look of these swing arm bedside lamps. If you live in an apartment or have a really small bedroom where you need your bedside table for storage, these would be a great alternative.

Let's take a look at where you can find these amazing Industrial lamps for under $100.

One: This is a more modern take on the apothecary lamp. It would be a neat addition to even an office to give it a bit of glam. I also love how the lamp has a plug built right in for charging a cell phone or alarm clock.

Two: This lamp originally caught my eye because of the price. It is only $35.00 at The Home Depot. My friend really wanted a brass or shiny gold lamp, but for this unbelievable price...if you are a DIYer, you could buy a can of metallic spray paint for $3.00 and you still have an amazing lamp for an amazing price!

Three: Can you ever go wrong with items from World Market? This lamp has more of an upright feel, but still gives them same look.

Four: I believe this beauty is the one my friend went with for her bedroom. This table lamp has so many color options that you could have one for each room in your home!

Five: Okay...I may have broke the $100 rule on this one, but I couldn't help it. I really like the idea of a swing arm lamp that hangs from the wall. You still get the same look, but these lamps help keep your bedside tables clear and allow more room for books and pretty items.

Would you consider putting these pretties in your home? How do you feel about splurging on lighting for your space?

Have a Marvelous week my friends!

Organizing Finds

You all know that my resolution for this new year is to get organized! I had a little time between appointments the other day to shop around for some great organizing finds.

You can spend a fortune on organization items or you can shop around and find the best prices! I thought I would share what I found!
{BTW...Please don't judge the pics! I was taking pictures quickly with my phone so no one would think I was some kind of organization stalker!}

My first stop was World Market. I often walk through this store and find great items that could fit in any space.

First I found these little beauties:
I love the colors! I am really thinking about where these could go in my home. I believe the small one was $9.99 and larger one $14.99. Not bad if you only need a couple. It would be hard to justify a whole closet full (even though they are pretty)!

These are also really cute! I love the loop that closes over the wooden button. These would be great in a familyroom where you could hide DVDs or Kids toys.

I also came across this storage bench. Since we have been talking organization in our entryways, I thought this would be a great way to organize all the shoes that pile up near the front door!

My last find at World Market were these wired baskets. Can't you see these in your pantry? The are a little too country for my house, but if I took out the linings they could become a little more industrial which I love!

Then it was off to Target! I mean who wouldn't love an excuse to shop at TARGET!!

First stop was the dollar section:
These little felt baskets would be great in kids rooms to hold hair clips, baby supplies, legos...etc. Only one Doh-LAR!

These were also in the dollar section, but weren't a dollar. (never did understand that) These metal bins would also be great on shelves in kids rooms as book buckets or in a craft/sewing room for all crafting supplies. I love the different colors!

Target really went all out this year with their storage section! So many colors and patterns and at great prices!

I also found this section near the picture frames. All of these items can be written on with chalk! Yes people! I love any storage item that can be organized with labels. This section had bins and office organization galore!

My favorite section in target were all these lovely bright colored bins and crates!

They also had red and orange bins as well, but as you can see I am always drawn to the "cool" colors! {Don't Judge}

These are also a favorite of mine....wired milk crates! But at $21.99 each...I have a hard time justifying where to put them. Don't worry...I will be back someday!

On my way out of the store (only the good Lord knows how long I was in there for) I ran across the office section and found a few lookers.

Did any of you know that Real Simple has a new office line at Target!?
Me Neither!

Well....I did end up picking up a few items! I was good..I promise. I will show you on Monday what I ended up finding to organize my Laundry Closet!

Which finds were your favorite?
It's Fry-Tay People! Enjoy your weekend!
