My Weekend Find {Jewelry Organization}

We are talking thrifty finds today. Do you get jealous when someone finds an unbelievable deal at a thrift store? I DO! I have gone to Habitat Restores, Goodwill and many many thrift stores. I really rarely ever find fabulous deals like most of my friends do. I seem to always be looking for a specific thing and then get discouraged if I can't find that item. Maybe I need to take a different approach and just enjoy looking around, then some fabulous deal with pop right out at me!

I am also not a big collector. I want my house to feel collected overtime, but I don't want knickknacks all over. I am really trying to simplify my life and just put items around my home that have meaning or that I absolutely love and know I will have on display for many years.

Well this past weekend I had a few minutes to waste and popped into a local thrift store here in town. I only got one item....but I am kind of in love with it.

I got this milk glass bowl for $8.00. It is in perfect condition! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had that perfect place where it could be on display. I also knew it could be a functional piece!

I decided to make it into one of my jewelry organizers.  The little decorative loops on the edges are perfect for my earrings and the bowl can hold my frequently used bangles and cuffs.

It is such a simple and cheap way to organize the jewelry that usually gets stuffed into drawers. Now I can put those pieces on display!

New Crush {Stowe Street} Bangles & A GIVEAWAY!

Last week I gave you a glimpse into some products and ideas that I have been diggin lately! After I wrote that post, I emailed the designer, Jessica from Stowe Street and introduced myself. I told her how much I loved her Bangles and Cuffs and how they reminded me so much of either Kate Spade or Coach designs.

She emailed me back and told me a little background of the company:

To give you a little more information about the company, it was started by my best friend from high school Jennifer and myself only a few months ago. We have been working together for the past two years on a men's bag and accessories company (www.navali.com), but we really wanted to do something for a women's market as that obviously speaks a lot more to us, so we came up with the idea for the bracelets. We have always been big fans of the clean and polished look from brands like Kate Spade and Coach, but their accessories can be super pricey, so we wanted to create a similar product at a better price point. Jen and I designed the bracelets ourselves with the help of our artist who helped our ideas come to life. 

She also asked that if any of my readers (That's YOU!) had any ideas for different types of metals and/or designs to let her know! She really wants to expand this company and I think they will do very well, don't you?

Weekend Getaway & DIY Bracelets

Is it really Wednesday? Where has this week gone?

Last weekend was a much needed getaway to the beach!

We relaxed....

Played games.....

Felt some sand between our toes.....

And enjoyed a little of God's beauty....

BUT!!! WE ALSO COMPLETED A DIY!!.....(I know I just had to bring something to do!)
