Orange You Glad....

I recently ordered Happy Chic Colors by Jonathan Adler.  If you know anything about Jonathan Adler....you know how quirky and eclectic he really is! I smile each time I see his style. It is so bright, fun and completely different!

While reading through his book this weekend, I stopped at the section on the color ORANGE. He talked about how Orange = electrolytes for your eyeballs! Hilarious and so true!

This past year I actually painted our half bath orange. I wanted a little punch of something downstairs, since the rest of the rooms are pretty neutral.
I think that Orange says I am a fun person and I am not afraid of color! I know that orange is not for everyone, but I just smile each time I walk into that bathroom. It really does put you in a better mood! HA!

Here are some pics of our half bathroom. I paired this specific orange color with gray. I really like how it turned out.

Little Bathroom caddy holds succulents and supplies. There is literally NO storage in this small space.

I love these abstract prints that I inherited from a good friend!

Adding a little gray makes the space feel a little more sophisticated!

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like........

Christmas.....Fall! (sorry I got carried away with the wrong season)

Don't you just love the colors that Fall can bring? We sure have been enjoying some leaves on our lawn, cooler weather, cider and warm blankets! It was in the 80's here on Monday & Tuesday so I couldn't really write this post until today because it will finally be in the 60's! (Yes! Sweater Weather!)

This weather also puts me in the mood to decorate for a different season. I must admit that my husband enjoys getting the fall decorations out more than I do! However, I have enjoyed creating some fall diy's around here this year!

A Little Vignette on the sofa table. I made these little tea lights with some

burlap and filled my glass table lamp with some fall leaves.

Some funky gourds accent the wine rack with a little color.

Pumpkin Centerpiece on the dining room table. I found this old wooden box at a flea market this summer for $10! It fits our table perfectly.

This burlap wreath really brings some "bling" to the front door!

I am really enjoying the cooler weather and I'm even more excited for the holiday season around the corner!

New Kitchen Light-{West Elm}

I have added some much needed personal touches to my kitchen and the update is almost complete! Our backsplash is finally finished and I added these pendant beauties over the bar:

After my dad installed these pendant lights, I noticed that the chandelier above the kitchen table didn't mesh with the rest of the design.
Here is my current light fixture above the eat-in kitchen area:

There is nothing wrong with this light, however it just isn't working in this space now that I have changed everything else!

This view is from the hallway and I feel like I need a true "Statement" light once you walk in the door. It would really add a great design element to the space.

I started looking around for something a little different and finally decided on this Drum Pendant also from West Elm.

There are so many different Drum Pendants out there in the lighting world, but I really like the design of this specific pendant. It is a little shorter (9inches) than most and also a little wider (14inches). I am very excited to see how it looks in my kitchen.

Hope you all had a great weekend! I was at the beach with my two dearest friends Tara and Erin! We had a fabulous time relaxing with no kids and no husbands! Just girl time! HA!

Gray & Yellow

Yellow Door

I am totally in love with the color gray. I really think it is fabulous. Many people are scared to try gray in their homes because they feel that it will make their room very sterile and not so inviting. Many think that it would make their home feel cold.

I am the opposite. I think gray is the new "neutral", just like beige has been the neutral over the past 10 years or so.

Gray is very versatile. It adds a kind of modern sophistication and when you add a pop of color like yellow, orange or turquoise it adds the warmth people are looking for.

OK...if you are not drooling by now...there is something seriously wrong! I love everything about this room: The painted lines to look like molding, the carpet that looks like ornate tiles, the bedding and the yellow tufted ottoman. Oo La La!

This room is very regal! It gives you an idea how you could mix gray and yellow with some black and white. The chrome fixtures around the room really draw your eye into the room. Just beautiful!

Mantel Monday- Halloween Decor

What a Gorgeous weekend! I hope you all enjoyed some fresh air and outside time. I was finally able to dig up all of my old (dead) plants and add some new mums for a Fall feel.

I really love Fall. It seems like we say good-bye to the hectic dog days of summer and welcome a more calm way of life. I am super pumped for cooler weather (even though today is going to be 80 degrees) and all that the Fall season has to offer.

Along with the weather, I absolutely LOVE decorating for Fall. I enjoy the warm colors, pumpkins, colorful leaves and BURLAP! HA! I can't wait to show you more of my burlap projects.

This weekend I used a lot of items around my home to decorate my livingroom mantel for Halloween.  Most of you saw my black and white pumpkins from yesterday. They definitely made it into my Halloween mantel decor.

I really love how it turned out!

The spider candle was from pottery barn last year.

The white branches I spray painted and added some spanish moss that I picked

from our trip to Kiawah.

The black and white pumpkins were my weekend DIY.

I also made these little cutie tea lights using burlap, paint & glass tea light holders.

The Boo Banner was also made from....you guessed it....BURLAP!

All and All I was very pleased with the final product!
