{Flip Home} Outside paint color & Sneak peek

Last month I talked about some exterior paint choices for our current renovation project on our flip home.
I am happy to say that I am in love with our pick!

I stopped by to see how the progress was going the other day and snapped a couple of pics with my phone!

I love the contrast between Sandy Hook and Chelsea Gray. It has made such a difference for this home.
Now we are in need of a colored front door and some shutters!

If you forgot what this place looked like before, check it out:

We are getting there! We are hoping to have this whole project done by October. We still have a long way to go, but it sure is fun!

Here is also a little sneak peek of the back deck. My brother and I decided to spice up the railings.
Aren't they just fabulous!?

The drywall is up inside the home and we are now picking cabinets, tile & colors! Stay tuned later this week to see some of our choices! We might need your votes!

What do you think so far?

Exterior Paint Choices

Well I am back at it again with trying to pick some paint colors, but this time it is for the exterior of a home. As most of you know one of our businesses is flipping homes. My brother is a contractor so we have teamed up on a home to flip in the Raleigh area. The last flip took a span of 3 1/2 months to fix up and sell. That was a really quick flip!

The new home below needs A LOT of TLC and will take quite a few months to finish up.
We have torn off the siding and found some board and batten underneath. We decided that we are going to go with the board and batten rather then the vinyl siding. I think it will give the home some character and bring the value of the home up a little bit.

This is the current state of the place without the vinyl siding:

I know it doesn't look like much now...it actually looks quite dumpy! HA! But, you just wait and see what we have in store for this beauty.

One of my first jobs has been to pick a color scheme that would fit the neighborhood and look classy. This neighborhood is quite old, but most of the homes have been updated and painted. It is a very trendy area to live in so we need to go neutral with a bold pop like the first picture below.

Here are some inspiration pictures I have been looking at:

Traditional Exterior design by Minneapolis General Contractor Stonewood, LLC

After a lot of samples and clicking through pinterest we chose the following color scheme:

Sandy Hook: Board & Batten, Brick Front
Chelsea Gray: Shutters, Shakes around door and in the peak
Glass of Milk: Trim
Milk Pail: Door

The only color that may change as we continue on this project would be the door color. I am not 100% completely sold. I think it is very classy, but we might go with something a little more bold.

As we complete some items in the home, I will keep you updated! It is going to be a challenging, but fun project!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Entryway Progress

One more day till the weekend! I don't know about you, but I have to make a countdown each week. It helps keep me motivated and moving toward a goal. I am looking forward to finishing up the painting in the entryway this weekend.

I have made a little progress. The wainscoting has been primed, sanded and one coat of paint!

I also bought this beauty:
A Martha Stewart Special from Home Depot.

I found this fabric on Hawthorne Threads for the bench seat cushion:

I have had such a hard time finding a rug for the entryway because it has weird dimensions. So I am thinking of ordering these carpet tiles from FLOR. I like the herringbone pattern in them and I can also lay them in parquet style for a little more of a weave.

The dimensions are perfect and I can always add more tiles if needed. I also love that these tiles can endure "HEAVY" traffic. This is the meeting and entering place of our home. Where we track in dirt, grass....etc. I need a rug to be quite durable!

So that is where I am at. I am  hoping to have all of the painting done this weekend so I can share my color choice with all of you on Monday.

P.S. I forgot to mention that yesterday was my 100th post! I have enjoyed writing each and every post for all  of you lovelies! Thanks for reading and supporting Eat.Sleep.Decorate!

Here's to a Productive Thursday!

Oh I {Heart} Martha

You guessed it...I am talking about THEE Martha Stewart.

(Quick side note: When I was growing up in NY, my dentist was Martha Stewart's brother! No Lie! He even had her signed pictures up in his office. I thought I was so cool and would tell all of my friends. Pretty cool huh? I know you are all jealous! HA!)

One of my favorite items for my giveaway last week were the fabulous Chalk Board Labels. Martha has an awesome new office line at Staples. All of her items are also reasonably priced. There are so many wonderful items to help organize not just your home office, but closets, pantries, drawers, etc.

Check out some of my favorite items from Martha's new line:

What do you think about all that fabulous organization? Are you ready to run to Staples?

I think Staples was very smart in letting Martha advertise her office line! I know that I will be using a lot of her items because they are reasonably priced. I love The Container Store, but really have a hard time justifying the prices there. I walk out of that store broke! The prices won't stop me from going, however I can just run down the street to Staples and find some beautiful organization for half the price as well!
