Well hello my sweet readers! Can you believe it is November? How did we get to the holiday season already? Thanksgiving is three weeks from Thursday and Christmas is a month after that! Yikes!

I am pretty excited about the holidays this year. We are traveling for Thanksgiving, but will be around home for Christmas and New Years. I love being able to decorate and enjoy my home this time of year. It is my absolute favorite!

Yes it has been almost 2 months since I have last posted. It was a much needed break, but one I didn't think would last as long as it did. When life happens...sometimes you just have to roll with it. As much as I love this blog and sharing inspiration and ideas with all of you, I needed to take care of me and my family first and foremost. I needed to have some time to reflect on life and what is most important as well as spend time with the people I love.

Some fun experiences over the past two months:
I celebrated my 33rd birthday in September. I woke up to breakfast, flowers and Starbucks! Doesn't get much better than that!
The Hubs and I flew to Boston for business. It was more fun than business for me! Walking the gorgeous streets and enjoying a baseball game in Fenway Park were definitely some of the highlights.
Spent some time with my nephew at his soccer games. It was quite entertaining watching 4 year olds play soccer!
Toured Raleigh's Parade of Homes. Will share some details next week for sure!
Spent a week in Western New York for my sister-in laws wedding. It was a half Indian, half Christian wedding. It was gorgeous and we even got to wear Sari's!
Quality time at Sunday family dinners with these two crazies! (my mama & niece)

Some thoughts I have had while on my blogging break:
I feel that in this world full of social media you can get caught up in what everyone else is doing. We often compare our homes, our kids, husbands and fashion to those around us. I really don't try to keep up with the Jones's, but being a blogger I often feel the pressure to complete projects in light year speed to knock out more and more posts for my readers. I want this blog to be a place of inspiration and project ideas, but not a place where I feel forced to produce. It can become exhausting and then burn out happens.
I started this blog as a creative outlet and to connect with others that enjoy what I enjoy. I am going to keep that outlook going forward. I want to be true to you and true to myself. I am going to post when I have inspiration or projects to share. It may be two times a week or five. It will depend on what is going on in my everyday life. I hope you will continue to stick with me and give me your own input on decorating and just plain ole life. This blog wouldn't be what it is today with out all of YOU!
Thank you to all of you who took the time to email and check up on me! I have found such happiness in this little ole blog and have made some true friends!
Also....thank you to all of you who have stuck around on my long absence! Many of you have been following bits of life on my Instagram and Facebook.
I will resume Tuesday Treats tomorrow and I have a few fun ideas coming your way later in the week!
XOXO
Happy to see you back from your break! Mine is still going on 5 months and counting... :) Loved your thoughts on blogging and can't wait to see your recap of the parade... with all the crazy that went on in October, I missed out on going. Happy fall to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back, and TOTALLY understand. Was good to follow along on IG, so I could keep up with what you were up to. And, agree wholeheartedly on your thoughts on blogging. I think it is easy to get caught up in what the "bigger" blogs are doing, but what we don't always see is what is being sacrificed to do so.
ReplyDeletewelcome back! and KUDOS for acknowledging what's important in your life. we enjoy things more completely and so much better when they stem from within, glad you appreciate and honor that. xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like the year has been filled with wonderful experiences. Oh, I love saris! So lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the recipe!!
Welcome back! Glad to see you are well and had a nice break! I'm lucky to crank out 2 posts these days. I can't stand writing for the sake of writing and I don't have that many inspired things to say anymore. Definitely not enough for 5 days a week, every single week. Things are crazy busy this time of year and they're only going to get busier!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back and can't wait to see what's next! Glad you had a good break!
