Front Door Reveal

I know all you lovelies have been clicking and refreshing your screens for days now! hehe

For those of you that are new to my blog you can read about my paint options for my front door here. We had a big blog vote and the paint color that won was (click here).

However, I decided I was brave but not Peacock brave! So my final decision was Calypso Blue!

It took me a couple of days to really live with it, but now I love it! It is quite the change from plain ole Black!

And...a little Before and After....

What do you think? Crazy or Totally Fun?

  5. I think it's totally fun! I love a bright front door. It completely brightens your whole home. I'm currently debating the new color of my front door. Currently, it's bright red and I'm itching for a change but can't decide.

  6. Definitely love it! I've been thinking about doing a color on our front door, since the black paint needs a spruce up and I love your peacock blue!

  7. Here via Emily A Clark... your door looks great! I just had to comment because the color looks really similar to the color that I painted our doors a couple years ago. And I still love the color every time I look at it... now off to look through your archives... :)

  10. Hi Amy,

Saw your door on Emily Clark's blog and had to visit here ... love the door style and color :) I'm overly into the blues and turquoise colors (I have a similar color to your door on my walls in the front room ... too much for some folks, I know) but what's a bit more blue ... want to change my door color anyway, and I'm seriously considering what you chose:) In comparison to your inspiration pics, your door photo is more blue and the painted chest greener ... does the color on the door in person read bluish, that's the direction I'd want to head. I pinned your door and I'm a new Follower too.

  14. Totally fun - love it! And I'm not just saying that because my front door is almost the same colour :-) Front doors should stand out and make a statement - people need to know where to go to get into your house, after all :-)

  15. You may find that it is more difficult to accessorize in calypso blue than black. On the other hand, as it is a protected porch you could paint nearly anything in your chosen color.

It looks a very nice paint job. Congratulations.

  17. Hello Amy: I love your color choice for the door--blue is a favorite of mine, and our screen door is in a deep turquoise--I love it!

  18. Gorgeous choice! Funny, because I just painted my outdoor dresser planter Peacock Blue!! It's very bold and perfect for my whimsical planter but I think you went with the perfect blue for the front door.

So glad you joined our Color party and pinning this because everyone should have a colorful front door!

  20. Hi! I see that this post is a few months old, but I just found it on Pinterest today. :) I think it looks awesome! I've been toying with the idea of painting my front door a color (it's currently stained wood, and very weather worn). I think this color might look really great with our terracotta brick. Maybe too wild for our neighborhood, though. Ha! Anyway, I love it!

    1. Thanks Jenny! I really do love it and the color even went with my Halloween Decor. Now I am going to have to make it work for the holidays coming up! I thought it was too wild for our neighborhood too, but I needed something exciting! Everyone else's doors are black and maroon!

    1. Hi Alicia,
Thank you so much for the kind comments! I really love the color of my front door. I am the only one in the neighborhood with a little spunky door! I am sorry that I don't know the name of the outside color. We bought this home new and it was already painted by the builder. We didn't get to decide. It is a nice neutral tan/beige of some sort. wish I could be of more help!

  26. I LOVE the color of your front door!! I went and got a sample card of the Calypso Blue, and it doesn't look anything like the color on your door. (the sample is small, and i know things can look different on the computer) Did you put anything over the paint, or do anything else? Any info or tips would be great because i really want to do this to my front door, but looking at the sample it just seems so different.
    Thank you!!
