Tuesday Treats #13 {Inspiration from around the web}

I'm back {a little later than I thought} today to bring you some treats and inspiration from around the web.
Hope you enjoy what has been inspiring me this week!

1. Jessica Simpson's Beverly Hills Home
Not sure how I came across this beauty, but take a look at this back yard! (drooling) You can see her whole house tour Here. It is designed by Rachel Ashwell with Shabby Chic Couture. I can appreciate so many designs & styles even if they don't fit into my own style. What about you? Are you a Shabby Chic lover?

2. Mother's Day Gift Round Up
Twelve bloggers decided to create a list of their favorite things Mother's Day style. There are so many amazing ideas for mom's that love being in the kitchen, mother's who are fashion divas, like to decorate and/or pamper themselves. Click HERE to see the full list. You can click on any item on the link and it will take you directly to the source. Only a week and a half till Mother's Day all!!

3. An Herb Garden on a budget
You all know that I like to make things look pretty, but I do have a budget that I need to stick to. My friend Luci that writes the blog Current Tempo made her sweet little herb garden out of recycled jars from around her home. If you don't already follow her, you will want to. Her eye for photography is amazing and she is such an inspiring writer.

4. Polk A Dot Cake
How adorable is this cake? My girl Cassie recently made it for her daughter's birthday. She is one talented and dedicated mama!...and she makes it look so easy. Yum!!

5. Roughside Up Reclaimed Wood Signs
My sister-in law has been creating reclaimed wood signs for quite a while now. Her and my brother bought some tobacco barns in the country and have been tearing down the walls and floors. My brother has used the wood to frame out mirrors and my sister-in law uses the wood for signs and reclaimed wood hooks. It is a fun little side business and she is doing quite well. If you want to follow along you can click on her Facebook Page. You can also contact her through FB if you have a specific custom sign you want made. Remember the hooks in my closet? She also made it and I love the organization it brings to my space.

Alright my friends! I am off to complete a fun project that I have been working on. Can't wait to share with you all on Thursday. ALSO... Come on back tomorrow to see the reveal of Flip House #5!!

Cha Cha Changes & House updates

Hi All! Sorry for the long absence. We actually took a week off and went to the beach for some family time. It was wonderful to get away from the busyness of life. We are back in full swing this week and I can't wait to share some exciting things coming up.

We finished Flip House #5 and will be sharing some before and afters on Wednesday. It really looks amazing. We are crossing our fingers that it sells fast!

I will also be sharing a fun partnership on Thursday. It has to do with sprucing up a small part of the nursery and I can't wait to show you all!

Some changes around here...

I decided to sell my entryway hall tree and start the hunt for a console table.

The hall tree brought some function, but it wasn't quite me and I decided I needed a bit of a change. It sold very fast and I was left with an empty space to fill. My mom and dad had an extra antique dresser that they weren't using, so I scooped it up. It is a great new little addition to our entryway while I look (and save) for something I want.

I need to find a mirror to go above the dresser and someday console. I have my eyes on a few! If you follow me on Instagram you would know that I found this beautiful Lucite and chrome light from HomeGoods. I am really in love with it. Not sure it will stay in this little location, but I like it here for now. It may float from space to space depending on my mood!

In other news...my brother helped me install double shelves in the nursery closet. As you can see in the pictures below there isn't much storage in that tiny room. I wanted double shelves and rods for clothes and storage for baby to be.

My brother used 3/4"x12" MDF for the shelves and some 1x2 clear pine for the support molding.

I will be installing the socket holders and rods this week. Then it is all about paint & organization!

So those are the changes and updates around here! How have you all been? Thanks for sending emails and pictures updating me on your projects! Keep them coming! I love to see how you are inspired within your own homes.

Thanks for listening to my Monday Rambling Sweets! See you all here tomorrow for a new round of Tuesday Treats!

Front Porch Updates {Before & After}

This past weekend was beautiful! I spent the whole weekend sprucing up the porch so we could do some serious front porch sittin this Spring!

I am really happy with how it turned out. It is amazing what a little pop of color can do. I found the colorful pillows and rug at Target. The pots were from various nurseries as well as Big Lots & Home Depot. The rest of the items I had around the house. I love re-purposing items from my house, it is like finding new items for zero cost!

The Sisal Pouf (found at Home Goods) was originally in the Hubs office, but it happens to move from room to room a lot. I love how it gives this vignette a little texture. (The kitty is an optional touch as well.)

Door is Calypso Blue..painted a couple years ago. You can see the before and after pics Here

You can check out my DIY Spring Wreath Here and Welcome Mat Here

Me and kitty have really been enjoying some front porch sittin!

So have you been outside getting ready for nicer weather or are you still stuck inside with cold temps and snow!?

And...you know I couldn't leave you without a couple before and after pictures. Thanks for hanging in there, it has been quite the picture overload today. My apologies! :)

Tuesday Treats #12 {Ideas and Inspiration from around the web}

Today I am preparing for visitors! I love when family and friends roll into town for a few days. So I am off cleaning and organizing before they get here late tonight. Do you have any tips or tricks that save time getting ready for guests? {I would love to hear...leave a message in the comments!}

I love when websites and blogs inspire me. I enjoy seeing fresh new ideas and this week's links don't disappoint people! Enjoy!

#1. Floral & Polka Dot Covered Eggs:
It is that time of year! Easter is this coming weekend. Do you usually dye Easter eggs? It use to be a fun tradition with my family, but I haven't gotten into it over the past few years. Kristen came up with this adorable idea....covering eggs with adorable flower paper by using a glue/water mixture while using a sharpie to create dalmatian dots on the opposite eggs. So creative I tell ya! Tutorial Here.

#2. New Bud Vases from Arrow & Sage:
I am sure most of you remember the talented Anna from Arrow & Sage. She did a giveaway a little while back. Well she is back at it again...creating the most amazing pottery for amazing prices! I love her new little Terra bud vases she has in the shop for only $22.00! And how about the pair of cylinder vases for $30.00! She is amazing that girl!

#3. 6th Street Design School: The Story of A Room
Kirsten from the blog 6th Street Design School is such a talented designer/decorator. She recently did a series where she told the story of how she goes about helping her clients design a room that they will love. You can start HERE and then go back to the beginning reading from day one to the final install. It is really an amazing transformation. You can see a couple of the final pictures below.

#4. Barbara Huber Designs: New Napa Valley Picnic Tote
Did you all know that my mother-in law is a talented sewer and designer? She designs patterns for Quilt Woman and her new Picnic Tote is amazing! How fun would this beauty be to take on summer picnics or to the beach? You can visit the rest of her patterns Here and check out her blog Here. She often has free patterns you can follow and such great sewing tips and tricks.

#5. Art By Michelle: Last Chance!!!
Don't forget that you can get 10% off any Art By Michelle custom house portrait or print through Thursday, April 17th!!! Use Code: EATSLEEPDECORATE at checkout!! These would make amazing mother's day and father's day gifts!! You can see what she designed for me Here
