Red, White & Blue Inspiration

I have always enjoyed Memorial Day weekend. It is a great few days to spend time with family, friends and to reflect on our amazing country. This weekend brings so many wonderful families memories back to mind. We use to spend time at our family lake house growing up with all of our cousins. We would fish, swim, boat, water ski, have campfires and more! Do you ever wish you could turn back time...just for a moment!?

As we head into this holiday weekend, here is a little Red, White & Blue inspiration:

Who else is ready to decorate in Red, White & Blue!?
Hope you all have something wonderful planned this weekend!

Under the Sink {Organization}

Those of you who have been following me for a while know that my 2012 Resolution was to get organized! I think I have done pretty well with the organization of my Laundry Closet, Master Linen Closet, OfficeHallway Bathroom, Entryway Bench and DVD Organization.

This past weekend I tackled organizing under my kitchen sink. YIKES! We have lived in this home for 4 years and I have just kept piling stuff under the sink until it looked like this:

I know some of you are thinking that it isn't that bad, but when you can't even find your everyday cleaner....that's a problem!

So...I went to Pinterest for some inspiration and here is what I found:

via

The lazy susan would give me a place for the items I use daily and I liked the idea of the tension rod to hold my spray bottles. It would also give me some extra space below to organize other cleaning products.

It was then off to Target!

I found this small lazy susan for only $5.99! I debated between a metal or plastic lazy susan, but ended up with the plastic choice. The plastic will be easy to clean under the sink spills.

These small plastic bins were also perfect size for under the sink and they were on sale for $3.99 each!

My last purchase was the tension rod for $5.99. I bought a thin oval rod instead of a round rod. I knew that some of my spray bottles had smaller nozzles, so the rod had to be a bit thinner.
It ended up working out perfect!

I emptied everything out from underneath the sink and gave it a good cleaning!
(who knows when the last time that happened)
Have you ever wondered why there are so many contraptions under the sink? I mean...you would think they would have come up with a better idea by now! Geez!

Next, the oval tension rod went up! It was placed from one end of the cabinet to the other.

The Lazy susan was placed closest to the door for immediate access. These are mostly products I use on a regular basis (minus the Ant Killer).

One plastic bin went closer to the back with supplies that are used only on rainy days.

And.....the finished product!

Not too spiffy huh? Aside from going to Target, this whole project maybe took me 45mins to organize.
So far so good! It has stayed this way for 3 days now...hehe.

This little bit of organization only cost me $20! And to think....I was going to go to The Container Store to buy some items. I would have walked out of there with at least $50-$100 worth.
So thankful for Target....my first love!

Train Theme Birthday Party

Happy Monday!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was fabulous to have a weekend at home to clean and organize as well as enjoy this beautiful weather we are having in NC. I still have my windows open on May 21st! CRAZY!

We also got to participate in a 1st Birthday Party for our friends little girl this weekend. They had a train theme and boy was it just adorable!

This invitation arrived a few weeks ago and has been hanging on my fridge ever since! You can find this and many other great party invitations at Dimpleprints on Etsy.

All of the adorable printables and banners are from Venspaperie on Etsy.

We even got our own tickets to ride the train!

A not so great picture of Me and Hubs riding the train!

It was a great party! Here is the birthday girl wearing her train conductor overalls!

What a Sweet Pea!

Happy 1st Birthday Amelia!!!

Featured Friday {Emily A. Clark}

Happy Friday All!
I am totally ready for the weekend, how about you? It has been a crazy week! I just got back from helping my parents pack up their home that they have owned for 30 years. It is bittersweet because they will be moving down south close to me! Actually only a mile from me! I am so excited! Isn't family the best?!

So that is my excuse for not posting much this week. I have a lot of pictures ready to take over the web for next week!! Stay Tuned!

On a exciting note, I was featured on Emily A. Clark today! She helped me pick my front door color and loves it just as much as I do.

If you haven't been on her blog before, you MUST check it out! She is one of my favorite decorators and I would consider her style a lot like mine. Thanks Emily for the Feature today!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Mother's are the Best! They are the ones that support us, the ones that give us hugs when we are down, the ones that make us cry by laughing so hard, the ones that sometimes frustrate us and the ones that are our BIGGEST fans....

I am so very blessed to have two wonderful mothers in my life! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and grandmothers out there! You are truly a support and inspiration to all of us!

Front Door Reveal

I know all you lovelies have been clicking and refreshing your screens for days now! hehe

For those of you that are new to my blog you can read about my paint options for my front door here. We had a big blog vote and the paint color that won was (click here).

However, I decided I was brave but not Peacock brave! So my final decision was Calypso Blue!

It took me a couple of days to really live with it, but now I love it! It is quite the change from plain ole Black!

And...a little Before and After....

What do you think? Crazy or Totally Fun?
