I was contacted by Jena from Involving color today to let me know that my Calypso Blue door was featured on her website!! I thought I would be sick of the color by now, but I am still absolutely smitten with it!

Even though it is down pouring rain today, I am in the spring/summer mood. When that mood hits...I need a new Summer Tote! Fabulous Feature Friday {Me Oh My}

I hope all of you have had a great week. I am so pumped for the weekend! We are trying to get a lot of organizing done around here before Memorial Day weekend. (wish me luck!)

Today I have an amazing home by the lovely Nicole from Me Oh My Blog. I love how she has mixed vintage with contemporary throughout her space. It is such a livable space yet at the same time it feels timeless and classy. I think my absolutely favorite spaces in her home are the kids rooms...oh and that fabulous chandelier in the kitchen!...I. Might.Die.! Hope you enjoy the tour!

Reader's Design Dilemma {Nursery Help}

Hello my fabulous readers! I am back with some ideas on how to help one of my readers with a dilemma in their nursery.

I am trying to finish up decorating the nursery in my house and am having trouble figuring out what to put above the changing table/dresser. I've looked at mirrors and shelves but haven't found anything we both like. I've attached a few pictures of what we've done so far in case you can provide any ideas. I do have some art and a monogram I'm going to hang over the bed, so that wall won't be blank anymore - just the dresser that's giving me a hard time. :) Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

So...lets talk about some options that Sarah Lynn could add above the changing table/dresser.

I have always loved the look of a colorful Alphabet in a child's room. It can grow with them throughout their school years. Sarah Lynn could even add her own colors and patterns to match the color scheme in her room.

How about this adorable idea? Soliciting some help from nature with the branch and hanging the name of the baby below. This would be a simple project. Plus the baby would love looking at the colorful letters above.

This is a similar take on the previous picture, but using a monogram instead. Finding a fabulous frame and even spray painting it to give a little punch of color to the room would be amazing!

I believe this is the same dresser that Sarah Lynn has in her nursery. It has just been tweaked a little. I am always a sucker for a gallery wall above any dresser, console, headboard, etc. This is adorable and if you haven't seen the whole nursery before, make sure you click on the source.

Here is another little gallery wall above the changing table. This time they added a round mirror. I think a mirror would be a great idea, even if it is just a single mirror. Because there is so many square furniture pieces in the room, I would definitely go for an oval or circular mirror.

How about just a simple double or triple bunting above the dresser? This would be such an easy DIY and I can imagine that sweet baby looking up and cooing at all the pretty colors and patterns.

I adore this picture. Such a simple idea with a single mirror flanked by sconces. Since Sarah Lynn has a smaller space above her dresser, she could always hang just one sconce above.

I love the idea of adding some history into the baby's room. These are framed clothing from the baby's mom and dad. So simple and such a sweet reminder.

Here is another example of the framed clothes. This could even be one of your favorite clothing items that someone gave you for a shower gift. 

I hope this gave Sarah Lynn a few ideas on how to go about decorating above her dresser.

My Recent Finds {Thrifting, HomeGoods & More!}

Wow! Monday already?
We are back from our little mini vacation to the beach. If you have been following me on Instagram you would have seen some major relaxing last week! I am thankful for our guest bloggers that helped me keep this blog running. We will have to continue our "Dream Home" series later this summer.

Have you all been trying to save a little money like I have? We have been trying to be a little thrifty over here and because of that I have been trying to find some deals for our home. I search high and low to find items that I not only love, but will also work with my home decor.

I have to be honest....I am not a big thrift store person. Mostly because I walk in there and just see junk. I have never scored an amazing deal like many of you. Maybe I am going to the wrong stores! That being said...I walked into our local thrift/antique store a couple of weeks ago and found a few items that I could call my own!

How adorable is this brass swan? I am not sure where I am going to put her, but I think she would fit perfectly in a nursery someday or even on the shelves in my home office.

Someone seriously worked hard when making this wooden Jack. Wouldn't this be adorable painted a bright color!? I have an idea in mind.


The Hub's and I also decided to try out an estate sale in hopes of scoring an antique dresser. By the time we got our act together all of the big furniture was already sold. BUT...I did find these vintage children's books.

The looking Glass & Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

You all know that I have been trying to work on the Hub's office. Well it is almost complete with just a few more touches like: Window treatments, a giant white board and a cow hide rug. 

I did find this natural Jute pouf from HomeGoods for his office. I love how it breaks up the dark furniture and adds some texture to the space. And with the $30 price tag...not too shabby!

Speaking of HomeGoods...isn't HomeGoods seriously amazing!!? I found this honeycomb lamp a couple of weeks ago and just couldn't pass it up. It is currently sitting in our guest room, but I might have to move it to a place more visible in our home. We will see....

How about this adorable print from one of my favorite etsy shops! I love this song by Stevie Wonder and I thought it would be perfect on my night stand. What do you think?


Okay...Last but certainly not least is this Nate Berkus Tortoise Shell. I have had this little guy for a long time and my friend Amy from BabyMamaJuice finally inspired me to get it up on my wall!

I love how it adds a little modern in my traditional dining room.
