{DIY} Polka Dot Coffee Mugs

I had some dear friends over for brunch on Sunday and while the men were talking business, us ladies decided to create a little DIY project.

We used acrylic paint that was made for all surfaces. I chose gold and pink because they are girly and I have been in a Valentine's mood!

I also picked up these little guys at JoAnn Fabrics for $2.00!

These sponge pouncers worked great with the large polk a dots and we used the tip of a pencil eraser for the small dots.

After we added our dots, we placed them into the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes. **A little advice to you, make sure the paint is completely dry on your mug before setting them into the oven. Some of our mugs had large globs where the paint wasn't completely dry***

This project was so simple and could be done with any color combo! Don't these mugs just make you want to sip some coffee or tea while watching a girly movie!? Me too!

What DIY Projects have you been tackling lately?

Baby Girl Nursery Plan

A couple of weeks ago I spent some time with one of my dear friends, Lisa. She is expecting a little girl in March and is really trying to get everything ready for her baby girl's arrival. She was unsure of what route to take when it came to the nursery. All she knew is that she loved neutrals and wanted a room that was very soothing and classy. She loves soft grays and linen fabric.

Taking all of this into account, I created a little mood board with some ideas.

Two wonderful gray paint colors are: Moonshine by Benjamin Moore or the above one Collonade Gray by Sherwin Williams. Both would be great options for a soothing neutral nursery.

Sources: Glider- West Elm; Crib- Pottery Barn; Rug- Joss & Main; Dresser- Ikea; Chandelier- Shades of Light

Lisa recently sent me a picture of her fabrics. They are so beautiful! White eyelet, linen and cotton. Don't they just scream whisper classy? Her sister-in law is going to help her make her bedding as well as the window treatments.

I can't wait to see how she uses them in the space!

I was thinking that above the dresser/changing table should be a beautiful gallery wall with frames in different sizes and finishes. I love these ideas below:

If she wanted to add some "pops" of color in the space she could do that with some artwork, rugs & pillows!

What do you think so far? I can't wait to share some before and after pictures in a few weeks! Stay tuned..

A Little Valentine's around our Home

Happy Monday All! What a great weekend I had getting refreshed after a rough last week. I was finally able to add some small touches to our home for Valentine's Day. Nothing too crazy, just spreading a little love here and there.

I used the XO from last year's Valentine's Mantel. If you recall our local Restoration Hardware was going out of business and I got these for $8 a piece. They were regularly $49!!

I also reused my paint chip heart garland.

My new addition was this LOVE sign. My sister-in law made it for me from reclaimed
barn wood. You can visit her Etsy Shop here. It might just stay up all year!

Remember my Hot Cocoa Station for the Holidays? Well...it has changed a bit. I found
these delicious lemonade drinks at Trader Joe's. This little Valentine's Station has
now replaced my hot cocoa station. Isn't it adorable?

I found the adorable striped straws at Marshalls for $2.99!

We had a little Valentine's Brunch with a couple of dear friends this weekend. I just had to make it fun and festive! Take a look at the dipped dyed runner below. I snatched this at West Elm for $9.99! Wouldn't this be a great DIY project?

You must have Chocolate at a Valentine's Place setting!!

I even added everyone's name to their drink straws using Washi Tape.

It was so good to have some time to create this weekend! How about all of you? Are you gearing up for Valentine's Day or are you just staying in with a box of pizza and a movie like me!??
