It's Beginning to look a lot like.....

well okay...it doesn't look a lot like Christmas here in NC because it has been in the 70's this week! But, my house is starting to look like Christmas at least. I am pretty much done with my decorating except my mantel. I went to cut some magnolia leaves off of my mom's tree the other day and just haven't made the time to use them. Hopefully you will get to see a peek before Christmas day!

On the outside of the house I kept it very simple this year. A boxwood wreath from Trader Joes and I added a little burlap ribbon and some white popcorn berries I found in Charleston, SC. I also placed my two lanterns with some greenery around them and added some small colorful bulbs to the inside.

This antique sled was my dad's when he was a little boy. I was going to paint it red this year, but decided to leave it looking rustic and natural.

When you enter the home you automatically run into this beauty! It puts a smile on my face as soon as I walk in the front door. I am in love with my ruffled skirt and all of those vintage ornaments I have collected throughout the years.

Also right inside the doorway I updated my Z-gallerie boots! I took out the umbrellas and added a little Christmas cheer!

As you can see from this picture we have TWO trees. I described this to all of you Last Year. I like to have my pretty tree and the Hubs likes his colorful tree which I really try to make pretty!

Not too bad...right? (The yellow burlap ribbon is from here.)

Here is my little table vignette in the dining room. I love the cloches and the sheet music garland!

This is my favorite lamp in the house. Not because it is totally stylish, but because I can change the inside of the glass area with each season. For winter I created a little woodland landscape with moss, trees & stumps.

Here in the kitchen I added a little Christmas cheer by taking down my valence and adding some greenery and mercury ornaments. I also purchased some wooden letters from JoAnn Fabrics that were already pre-painted. Dishes aren't so bad around the holidays when you can look at this!

And a little outside shot of the front at night!

How is your holiday decorating going? Are you totally done or have you just started!?

{Entryway} Reveal

Happy Monday all! Back to the grind after a little time off. It was a gorgeous weekend here in N.C. and I felt very productive! How about you?

I have been talking about my entryway since January! Yep...I am a little behind with showing you my progress. If you remember I gave you a little sneak peek here. I did a little update to the entryway bench here. I also had trouble picking the "perfect" gray for this space here. I gave you all an update and showed you my plan for the entryway here.

Okay...now that you are all caught up on my entryway, I would like to show you what it looks like! I am very happy with how it turned out. All of my rooms are always in progress, but it is done for now. The only thing I still need to change are the ceiling lights. (So please excuse the builder grade boob lights!)

Loving my carpet tiles from FLOR! Soft on your feet and easy to clean!

I splurged on this little beauty from Z gallerie! LOVE!

Framed some FREE printables I found online.

Gosh...loving this angle! My brother did an amazing job on the boxed molding and it really makes my new kitchen pendant from West Elm shine!

A little close up of the geometric fabric I found at JoAnn Fabrics!

Here are a few before and after pics:

PICTURE OVERLOAD! Sorry! I couldn't decide what pictures to show you all!

What do you think?

**You will notice that the wall behind the bench and the wall going up the stairway near the umbrella stand are a creamy color. This was/is the color of the whole house when we moved in. Those two walls do not match the hallway color at this time. There isn't a molding break into the dining room, so I am trying to decide what to do with those walls. I may or may not paint them the same color as the entry hallway. It is always a work in progress!**

My Weekend {according to Instagram}

Happy Monday! Another busy weekend around these parts, but a fun one!

A few weeks ago I shared my weekend using Instagram. I have really enjoyed using this app and love to follow all of my friend's fabulous pics during the week!

Here is what was going on around here this weekend:

Movie Night w/ the girls to see The Lucky One!

Ummm...Yep, stopped for some sugar!

Relaxed with a cold one! (not my husband, the beer you silly!)

Chased around my brother's dog "Boomer"!

Gelato Time!

Went to Z-Gallerie for the 1st time!
Gotta love some animal heads!

Found this gorgeous chair that I wanted to take home!
(Maybe I can talk the Hubs into it!)

Not a super productive weekend, but a fun and relaxing one! Don't you just need one of those now and again?!

Here's to a Fabulous Week!

Entryway Update

Happy Friday you crazy peeps! What do you have going this weekend? I don't think I am going to sleep this weekend. Yep...just decided that! I think I can get a lot more projects completed that way. hehe I will share my mile long project list later in this post.
I wanted to update you on the paint choices and a little entryway preview. As you all know, I had a little trouble choosing paint colors this week. I was telling my mom that I normally just pick a color and go for it! I am usually not this indecisive. However, the color gray has been keeping me up at night! Uggh!
I think I have narrowed it down to two colors for the entryway! I just need the sun to come shining in (which doesn't look like that is going to happen all weekend) so I can visualize the colors in natural light.

The two colors that I have to pick from are:
Collonade Gray by Sherwin Williams

OR

Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams

I am not too sure about the second choice because I feel that it is still a little on the blue side. I really just want a true gray! Hello Gray!

Well I will hopefully have some stinkin paint on the walls for all of you by Monday! So stay Tuned!

Once the color goes up, the fun stuff starts! I am getting excited to add some accessories and artwork to our small entryway. Here is my plan so far:

The Sunburst Mirror is actually from Home Depot. Adorable don't you think? I love the rug and have no idea where it is from! I must find!I already have the bench and will be replacing the current fabric and pillows to coordinate with the new color scheme. I am also thinking of adding a small table next to the bench to throw small items like cell phones, money, keys, etc. And of course...I am just head over heels for this Boot Umbrella Holder. Not sure why...just love!

So I have A LOT to do this weekend. Here is my current weekend to do list:
*Paint wainscoting glossy white
*Paint walls some gray color
*Clean and organize Master Bath linen closet
*Make valence for Hub's office
*Decide between two bedside lamps for Master Bedroom

I am a little overwhelmed...but also pumped that I should have a lot to show you next week!
What do you think about the hallway plan?
