Flip Home #6 {After} Pics

Hi All! I am so enjoying this fall weather here in NC. I love the change of pace from the busy summer to a more subdued fall. The colors are just starting to pop out and I can't wait to get the babies outside for some pictures.

As promised (a week late) I am sharing the after photos of our most recent flip home. If you missed the before pics you can find them Here.

Since I had just delivered my babies 6 months ago, I really wasn't too involved with this flip like I usually am. I did find the home and completed the closing, but I didn't get to do the FUN stuff like picking out paint, flooring, counter-tops, etc. However, our business partner really did a phenomenal job without me! See for yourself.

And of course a couple of photos to show how far we have come! Don't you love before and after pictures?

Now we are on the hunt for flip home #7! To see the last 5 homes click HERE.

What's On Your....Kitchen Counter?

Last month 8 of us bloggers posted what was on our bathroom vanities. This month's post is all about our kitchen counters. I would love to share an amazing kitchen with all of you, but alas you will see the real deal through the pictures below. I did clean up a little for you because there are usually some dishes in the sink and mail on the bar. But you all get the idea...this is real life.

The kitchen is the heart of the home....is it not? The place where meals are made, discussions are held, junk gets piled and messes are all around. I have a feeling that my semi-picked up kitchen will only stay this way for a short period of time. When these babies come it is going to be filled with bottles, burp clothes, wash clothes and the like. But I wouldn't want it any other way!

When we moved into this home 7 years ago, we were thinking it would be our home for 3-5 years. So I really haven't done much to the kitchen other than adding a back splash. I dream of granite counters and painted cabinets, but feel blessed just to have a functional and pretty large kitchen for now.

Everything has a place. You can always find some fruit in our white bowl, cutting boards leaning against the back splash and some ingredients by the stove.

The bar side of the kitchen usually has some mail and news papers piled as well as my semi-organized drop spot that I showed you all here. I always have a pad of paper with our ongoing grocery list so the hubs and I can write down items right away without forgetting what was needed later in the week.

And of course what would be a counter without a little coffee station. An antique tray that I found for $2.50 helps coral the grinder and keeps the mess off of the counter top.

I really try to have some flowers in the kitchen to make me happy. Doesn't always happen, but it was my new years resolution a couple of years ago and I find the kitchen much more cheery with some pretty flowers...even if they are from the clearance section at the grocery. My dish scrubber always has a place to rest, which I find helpful when trying to keep the sink clean from grime and water spots.

And that is the exciting world of my kitchen counters! HA! So I am thinking you all need to spill the beans on what your kitchen counters look like at the moment? Come on mama's out there....make me feel better by telling me how crazy my kitchen might look with the little twins here in just a short couple of months!

Fabulous Feature Friday: House Seven Blog

I haven't posted a Friday Feature in a while and I really want to bring this back! I love finding new to me blogs and sharing some amazing talent with all of you.
I recently came across House Seven Blog on Instagram. She posts the most amazing snippets of her home, so I decided to check out her blog. Well...it is just as lovely. Anissa shares projects around her home as well as everyday life. I am excited to share her beautiful home with you today. Enjoy!

I just adore her Industrial Cottage Chic place! It started out as just a builder grade home and Anissa has added so much character to each space she touches. I love how she has combined vintage pieces as well as more modern pieces in each room. Love her style don't you?

Hope you lovelies have a wonderful weekend. We are tackling a few items on the nesting list! Wish the Hubs good luck! xoxo

Fabulous Feature Friday {HGTV Dream Home 2015}

Every year about this time I get giddy to see what HGTV has accomplished with their new Dream Home. This year they did not disappoint. Their new home is settled in the quaint location of Martha's Vineyard. I have never been, but after seeing this home and the small town charm, I think it is safe to say that it will be on my travel list from now on.

A beautiful Cape Cod with lots of outdoor space! Is there anything more classic than a Cape Cod style home?

A wonderful little entry leading into the great room. Most Cape Cod layouts are separated into individual rooms. I love how they took the original design and made it into more of a modern feel with classic touches.

Light and airy with so many textures using wood, metal and different types of fabric.

Always a good idea to paint the back of shelves. It helps make your decor items pop and gives another element to the room design.

Living, Dining Room & Kitchen all designed with an open concept in mind. Perfect for entertaining!

The trend of two different types of counter-tops still stands as a fabulous idea to not only add different textures to a space, but to cut down on ones budget as well! Classic subway tile and bead board nod to the original Cape Code style. I could cook in here....how about you?

One of the guest rooms with vibrant orange and blue accents. I have been loving this color combination for a while. This room also has access to the outdoors with its own separate patio and lounging area. Sign me up!

Oh the master bathroom...I don't think I would ever leave! Loving the arched ceiling with accent color and those drapes! Would have never thought of adding heavy drapes to a bathroom, but it works and adds much luxury.

Another fabulous Master bedroom which has been tied with the master bath using the same color palette....and look at those drapes! I love the soft wood tones and the idea of turning an oval mirror on it's side for something unexpected.

This outside space makes me wish it was spring! And do you see that wooden box like thing over on the side of the home?.....

Yes...it's an outdoor shower! What a great idea when living close to the water. Ahhh..dreaming.

If you haven't seen the full tour of the home you can click HERE or tune in for a complete guided tour at 1pm today on HGTV!

To win this gorgeous home as well as $250,000 CASH & a GMC Acadia Login Here and enter twice a day till 2/17/15! I think I'm going to win....I can feel it! hehe

Kitchen Chairs {Look for Less}

Kitchen and dining room chairs can be so expensive! Have you noticed that?

I have always had a crush on Serena and Lily. I could take home anything from that store and make it work in my home. The only problem....the price. I found these adorable kitchen chairs a while back and thought they would be perfect to add some color in a space. I like the clean lines and no frills. They come in 10 different colorways.

I was searching Target for some decor ideas the other day and came across almost the exact chair! Is Target amazing or what?

If you look really close you will notice a few minor differences, but the price can't be beat.

I mean...Two chairs for less than the price of one! Sign me Up!

What look have you found for less lately? Do Share!

Fabulous Feature Friday {Life on Virginia Street}

I am very excited to share today's Friday Feature. Sarah writes the blog Life on Virginia Street. Definitely one of my favorites. Oh and the laundry room...don't get me started. I wish I had a laundry "room"!

Enjoy the tour.....
