Free Printable Friday!! {Gift Tags}

Hi All! How are you all holding up? I have started the mass package wrapping. My mother in law always creates beautiful packages tied with the most fabulous ribbons. Me...well lets just say I try to survive and get it done. While in the process of wrapping yesterday I realized I didn't have any gift tags or lables left from last year. I also didn't want to run out and get in the way of all the crazy shoppers, so I decided to find some printable tags that would look cute on top of my packages, but also cost me next to nothing. All I had to use was my printer and some card stock that I already had on hand!

I thought since I am such a gracious friend...hehe, I would share some of my favorite printable gift tags that I have found out on the web. Hope this helps some of you last minute wrappers!

If you still don't have time to print, cut and punch your tags, how about stopping by your local Hardware store and pick up a few paint chips!? This is an adorable idea as well as cheap and time efficient!

So which ones were your favorite? I am loving all of them! I might just have some pretty spectacular looking packages after all!

Happy Happy Friday! This makes....4 more shopping days left! Get busy my friends!

{DIY} Gold Merry Christmas Garland

Thank you everyone for your sweet comments around the web yesterday on our Holiday Home Tour. It is always fun seeing a story told through pictures.

I was asked a few questions and the one that came up most frequent was the Merry Christmas Garland on the tree. Where did I get it? Well...I made it! It was so quick and simple. I was inspired by this picture from Pottery Barn's Christmas catalog:

Of course it wasn't on sale anywhere, so I decided to make my own. I had a few extra shipping boxes left in my garage, so I pulled them out one night and stenciled Merry Christmas while watching football and sipping wine.

I then used a spray adhesive and coated the letters, then sprinkled gold glitter over each one. I let them dry over night.

The next day I pulled out the glue gun and some leftover Violet Velvet Ribbon from my Fall Tablescape and glued the letters onto the ribbon. So simple!

I think the hardest part was getting the letters to lay the way I wanted them to on the tree! I must have fussed with them for over an hour. I would sit back and admire, then get up and fix a letter or two. (I am a little OCD when it comes to things like that!)

I am happy with how it turned out and it cost me next to nothing! I had the cardboard, spray adhesive, ribbon & glue gun on hand. Just had to pick up some cheap stencils and glitter.

The garland really adds a little glitz to our colorful tree!

What quick little DIYs have you all be whipping up for the holidays? Or are you just trying to survive!?
XOXO

Christmas Home Tour

How are you all holding up? Ready for Christmas? I am sure you all have lots to do to get ready for the big day. I am right there with ya! We have been enjoying parties with friends, visits from family and the hustle and bustle that this time of year brings. I am really trying to embrace this season this year! It goes by so fast and sometimes I forget the real reason we celebrate Christmas. So I am trying to slow down bits and pieces of my day just to look at our decorated trees, call a friend on the phone and look through all the cards and pictures that are sent through the mail. I feel very blessed.

Today I wanted to show you around our holiday home. The Holiday Decorating doesn't last long so I wanted to give you a glimpse into this year's decorating for Christmas. Be prepared to grab your coffee and/or wine....this is called picture overload!! Welcome!

Are you all still awake? I hope you enjoyed the tour of our home. I really tried to make it simple, classy and fun this year. It isn't perfect by any means...but I do love it so.

Have a great week sweets!

Going Beyond Red & Green: Bringing A New Feel to Holiday Décor

I have a fun guest today teaching all of us a little bit about holiday colors and how we can incorporate different color scheme's into our holiday decor. I hope you enjoy!!

Some things about the holidays should remain constant. A tree, wreaths, candles, string lights; these are all essential to a well decorated home. But who’s to say your color palette can’t change as often as the seasons? There’s a way to incorporate the most unexpected color choices into winter décor; just as long as you have those basics, the accents you add in will be just as appropriate (and a lot more interesting) as the red and green you’ve been sticking to year after year.

Gold and Cream

If you want a classic palette, then you can never go wrong with gold and cream pieces. The elegance and timelessness of metallics isn’t to be questioned, and they look lovely when added in to almost any decorative style. Just make sure you eliminate as many other colors as possible; that winter wonderland effect is much easier to achieve when you tuck away your brightly colored accessories in favor of a more muted palette.

 1. Sunburst Mirror 2. Pinecone Stocking 3. Antler Candle 4. Deer Figurines 5. Gold Chargers

Turquoise and Brown

If you’re a little tired of the more traditional motifs, then branch out a little by choosing pieces that are a subtler call-out to the season. In this color combination, rustic wood tones are nicely balanced by faceted or glittery glass. They’re both an understated nod to that cheery wintery look; no need for elf figurines to get the point across. A roaring fire and some hot drinks on that tray will complete the picture of sophisticated, modern festivity.

 1. Reclaimed Wood Tray 2. Faceted Vase 3. Wood Grain Wrapping Paper 4. Wood Bowl 5. Fish Ornament

Pink and Orange

If you want to try a color palette that’s even more outside the box, then why not be a pioneer and incorporate pink, the new Pantone color for 2014, into your holiday décor? And punchy, bright orange is the perfect complement to add into the mix. The combo is normally pretty summery, so be careful not to go overboard. The key here is to incorporate plenty of evergreen foliage along with white or metallic pieces, just using these brighter colors as the final layer of accents. This maintains the seasonal look, but adds a playful and energizing twist.

 1. Plaid Blanket 2. Dessert Plates 3. Lacquered Tray 4. Dinosaur Ornament 5. Lowball Glasses

What do you all think? Could you try one of these fun color scheme's in your home or do you go for more of the traditional red, green & white?

Thanks Dagmar for giving us some fabulous holiday inspiration!
